Job Mission

The mission for the Junior Product Engineer is to develop and enhance the Jamango! platform, focusing on both the front-end and back-end components. This role requires a solid foundation in full-stack development, particularly using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js), with some experience in backend technologies and an openness to learning Ruby on Rails. A significant part of the role involves integrating closely with the platform's game engine, using ThreeJS and JavaScript to develop game-related features and tools. The Junior Product Engineer will work on both traditional web applications and game-specific components, providing a comprehensive development experience. This individual will work alongside our senior product engineers and directly contribute to the full-stack development of features in Jamango! from design stage to release.

This Junior Product Engineer should care about creating clean, efficient code and have a focus on the end-user experience. Although this is a traditional full stack web application development role, this developer will have the opportunity to work on specific game-related UI. Therefore, an interest and basic understanding of game design is necessary. The Junior Product Engineer will work closely with our experienced team, learning and growing while actively contributing to our platform infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Prototype and implement intuitive user interfaces, including landing pages, user profiles, and comprehensive game catalogs that enhance the overall user experience on the Jamango! platform.

• Create and refine interactive game elements such as world management tools, dynamic in-game UI components, and immersive game logic systems.

• Work closely with game designers to bring creative concepts to life, ensuring these features are engaging and accessible to both creators and players.

• Contribute to back-end development, focusing on full-stack delivery of features from wireframe to launch.

• Collaborate with game designers to enhance gameplay and user experience.

• Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and code reviews.

• Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical team members.

Requirements

• Personal portfolio to showcase work is a must.

• Passion for good design.

• Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as empathy towards creators and players.

• Proactive and self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.

• Empathy and great listening skills, understanding team and stakeholder needs.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, remote environment amongst a world-class team with high operational standards.

• Proficiency in React, Tailwind, JavaScript, understanding of ThreeJS, Ruby on Rails is a plus.

• BSc in Computer Science or related field is a bonus.
